How to precompile “Reporting Services” ASP.NET application

When you restart IIS or if “recycle worker process” is enabled, the ASP.NET application are compiling at the first hit.

But you can force the compilation with this Microsoft.NET tool: aspnet_compiler.exe

On this example I recompile “SQL 2005 Reporting Services” page.

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_compiler.exe -v /Reports

Another usefull tool is tinnyget.exe (from iis resource kit). With this tool you can make a HTTP GET to SQL Reporting Service or Sharepoint page and force the compilation.

tinyget.exe -srv:10.128.132.133 -uri:/ITSystem/default.aspx -h -u:"CurrentUser" -a:2
tinyget.exe -srv:10.128.132.133 -uri:/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx -h -u:"CurrentUser" -a:2
