How to remove obsolete packages in Debian/Ubuntu

Generally package manager is ok for install/upgrade/uninstall software on your linux machine. The problem became with obsolete packages because apt can’t manage packages that are no more present on repository.

For find obsolete packages use this command:

aptitude search ?obsolete

and to remove obsolete packages use this:

apt-get --purge remove $(aptitude search ?obsolete -F %p)

be careful with those commands…
