Problem: Vodafone Internet Key (K3806-Z) on Ubuntu 14.04

I had a strange problem with a Vodafone Internet Key (from Vodafone Station 2) and Ubuntu. Creating a WWAN connection (with APN web.omnitel.it) I can see the PPP tunnel connected but I can’t browse nothing. I discovered that no default gateway was set up by DHCP Client; if you run again “dhclient wwan0” after the connection, all start working.
To work around the problem, create a file like this (the name is not important):/etc/network/if-up.d/wwan_prob

#!/bin/sh

logger "running dhcp client on $IFACE to work around modem manager problem..."

if [ "$IFACE" = "wwan0" ]; then
       dhclient wwan0
fi

NOTE: Check that the name of your network interface is wwan0.

Set this file executable and try to use again the K3806-Z.

sudo chmod 755 /etc/network/if-up.d/wwan_prob
